YAESU FH-2 VOICEKEYER

This keypad is designed for the Yaesu FT-950 and FT-2000/D to control the internal voice card, especially useful during DXing and contests to protect the vocal cords. I didn't use all the functions of the original FH-2 keypad, only the buttons for managing voice memory recall. Both radios have the ability to store voice messages, and with this keypad, they can be stored and managed directly without having to press the function keys on the radio. There are only six buttons; one is used to store messages and five are used to recall the corresponding memories.

The parts list is truly ridiculous: just a few resistors, six inexpensive buttons, a mono headphone jack, and a small plastic or metal case. A printed circuit board is not necessary; a simple stripboard can be used to solder the components. To achieve the specified resistance values, combinations of series and parallel resistors are used. The use of 1% precision resistors is not necessary. I used standard 5% resistors and my keypad works perfectly.
