MY ANTENNAS POLE

The system I used to support my wire antennas allows me to put up a simple, flexible, wind-resistant structure. I had two split fiberglass windsurf masts, which I adapted to form a single 8.5 meters long mast. At the end of the mast, I placed a crossed tube with two pulleys.

I painted the mast with two coats of UV-resistant protective varnish. I threaded a marine cord into the pulleys which will be used to pull up the wire antennas.

In one corner of the garden I placed a 2.5 metre high 60x60mm square aluminium pole into which I will insert the fibreglass pole for about 1 meter. By doing so, the total height of the support system will be 10 meters.

Once erected, I used two galvanized iron poles used for TV antennas to form two 90-degree buffer systems that resist wind stress. This way, I didn't need to install any guy wires.

I currently have a base loaded inverted L antenna for 160 meters band (30 meters long) and a full size inverted L antenna for 80 meters band.
